Estimating quantity by guesswork
A common mistake is using a fixed number of desiccants for every container regardless of cargo type, route, or transit duration. This can lead to insufficient moisture control or unnecessary product waste.
Incorrect placement or late installation
Hanging the product in a blocked position or in prolonged direct contact with cargo can reduce absorption effectiveness. Opening the outer packaging too early before use also causes the product to start absorbing ambient moisture before the container is even sealed.
Overlooking input moisture
Desiccants help manage in-container air, but do not replace ensuring cargo, packaging, and pallets are sufficiently dry before loading. Skipping this step is a common mistake that limits overall effectiveness.
